I've been working on my non-fiction a lot lately. I actually think I'm getting close to finishing! It's not going to be very long, but it's also not short. I'm not sure what it will be. I just know it's my story and I have to tell it. Below is a small sample of what I was working on.
There was some space between all these events. The firings/lay-offs (whatever), I vaguely remember, was spread out over a few months. I know I didn't see my lay-off coming. I didn't even consider it. I helped the Controller reorganize the office. I helped with whatever they needed. Everyone was nice to me. I did my job properly, but it happened anyway.
At the end of March, I quit my other job. It was retail. I liked my co-workers very much. Everyone seemed sad to see me go. I quit because I wanted to spend more time studying. Exams started in April. Final essays and assignments were due. With two jobs, it just seemed like too much. We were also planning on moving out of the city in September so that my boyfriend could do his graduate work at another school. The retail job was great (I still have some of the clothes, excellent quality), but the other job, part-time administrative assistant, paid more. Apparently, I made the wrong decision.
